A Portal of opportunity
Barack Obama – the computer does not recognize either of these words and underlines them in red to point out the error of my ways. As corrections, I am presented with Barrack Boatman among other options.
This to me is a metaphor for what’s happened in this universe of ours. Well, maybe that’s a bit too broad. How about on our planet? I’ll defend that, no problem. What’s happened is a paradigm shift, a dimensional shift, a huge transformational CHANGE.
Even this machine (my computer), this technological wonder, only two years old, does not recognize the name of the man who is arguably the most powerful figure on earth today – the newly elected president of the US of A. Something has changed. An African name on my North American computer is not de rigueur. An African president on this continent has no precedent! This is BIG.
This man looks new, not old hat, not same old same old, not even sort of. And beyond the looks, the outer appearance, there’s a newness about him that is free of encumberment. I’ve probably made up that word (my computer does not recognize it), but it feels accurate. He doesn’t carry a dogma around with him, or a story, or even a cultural past. Yes, he’s religious (so there’s dogma), he has a personal story, and he is African-American, so he does share that history. And yet, each time I see him, especially during his acceptance speech, he stands tall, here in this present moment, transcending all limiting features and facts. In my experience, when watching him, when listening to him speak (so eloquently), there is a naturalness to him, a flow of words and of energy and of truth and of hope and of possibility and of cooperation, collaboration, co-creation. All the things I have longed for and dreamed of and come oh-so-close to giving up on…they are here, now.
This man in this time is no accident. Many factors, events, energies and entities have converged to bring us to this point of possibility. We must each one in our own heart of hearts look in deeply and see, feel, know what is our right place, our right action, our right way of being in these days. The old ways are gone. The major global upheavals that have occurred economically, politically, ethically and on every conceivable and inconceivable level are clearing out huge facets of what has been dominating much of our earth for so long. Good riddance – let’s say goodbye to corruption, greed, inequality, deception, cruelty, abuse, and injustice. Let’s say hello to each other whatever our colour, race, religion, nationality, size, shape, gender or what-have-you. This is about transcendence. It’s about inclusiveness. It’s about Oneness. How attunement is that?
Judie

Judie, this is exactly how I felt when watching Barack Obaham on TV. He brings a new energy, a freshness and truthfulness that has long been lacking in our world. I trust that this will usher in a new cycle and that we will now move into a blessed space of attunement aligned with the power of Oneness and our inner world, rather than the material world.
Bring on more articles like this. We need the positivity and insights now more than ever to stay attuned to the power of "truth" and to help us move forward in kindness, connection and love.

Hi Cindy, Thanks for your encouragement with our new Blog and the article. I feel impelled to focus on the responsibility I have, and each one of us has, in continuing to steward this New cycle. It will, as Obama has repeated many times, take all of us. It seems increasingly clear that our old ways are not working. Something new is required. Let's be alert and ready to perceive what that is and to act accordingly.

From an Australian based perspective...looking from the outside in so to speak, the symbolism Obama represents(as well as the man, as Judie and Cindy have already stated) in being elected really does suggest a move in to newness and youth; going against what has been (the Bush saga for example); taking a risk; many voices speaking as one; unprecedented support; a move to something more wholesome; willingness to face the tougher stuff; embracing a wider world for help and a commitment to own what is. These seem to me to be extra ordinary essences for the tough times and well worth our support. Mine will take the form of embracing these qualities right here at home where I can have the most impact as well as sharing words like this on a wider basis. One way I'm doing it is to take the attitude this Christmas & New Year of "being in my circumstances but not of them" so that translates into offering more the gifts of listening to my family and friends more deeply rather than focusing on the more material gifts (not that there is anything wrong with that) which after all are mostly composed of expensive dust! What I feel is in Obama's message, that has world wide implications, is this is about you and me doing the work together....it is not about the dust of the earth that we often lust after way too much. The gift of loving true service to myself and others is where it is at!!

After reading this post and the responses given,I am reminded of the tearful joyfulness I felt in the very moment I heard that Barack Obama had won the election. I continue to celebrate this feeling. And, although it is a man who won this office of the Presidency of the United States, the joy I felt and continue to feel involves a sense of a “winning” by us all. In a real way, we, who live in the United States, have now a true captain at the helm. Yet, this captain recognizes the essential nature of what it means to both lead and serve “the crew” within the same moment. I feel thankful for the opportunity to be called to serve by this president not only because I like him, but because I trust what his voice has touched in me. Thank you, Judie, for writing this piece and bringing his Presence, consciously, into our Attunement field.

Hi Judie and all,
Thank you for this forum to share our perspectives and connect around the globe in the current of friendship and attunement. Yes, I am deeply aware of what feels like "launching" energy with myself, my friends and neighbors, politics (since the election) and beyond. Funny though how I logged onto the internet today and read about a ripple of shock that Barack Obama was photographed without his shirt on. Seems odd that someone somewhere expected to see him in the ocean with a shirt on. As it turns out Obama looks strong and fit and even called "buff" by some headlines. Obama to me represents no longer needing to hide anything, especially truthfulness, or carry any shame related to false identity. What I sense on many levels is a movement toward a healthier vs. dysfuntional vibe.I applaud the movement toward self-revelation and identity shifts. May I be more about what Jonathan described as not being "of my circumstances" but of loving true service to myself and others. Blessings and gratitude for our collaboration.

Time flies! We are quickly approaching Inauguration Day. Obama takes office in one week. While we know the seriousness of the office he inherits, and of the times we are in, he continues to radiate an aura of "Yes We Can." Let's keep vigilant. Let's hold the vision. Let's keep the energy level high - and I don't mean wild partying (although that may have it's place). I mean the vibratory level that we hold in awareness no matter what is manifesting around us - let's keep it at a high frequency. Let's BE part of the victory of this cycle. Yes, we can. Yes we can. Yes we will.

HELLO JUDIE!
Hello all! "How attunement is that?"
Big time attunement! I too love the energy/spirit this man carries. It is good to share the radiance of attunement in this way. Lord knows...
Much love,
Nadeja
