Managing tougher times
Paul: We’re all aware
of being in the midst of a global financial crisis. Here’s a question for our
consideration: Is there something wrong? At the time of the Great depression, a
number of modern day visionaries came forth: Lloyd meeker, Edgar Cayce, and
Rudolf Steiner, among others. At the very time the world was in dire straits,
at the energetic level an opening was created for significant spiritual
evolution.
We’re in a similar
position today. We have the opportunity to provide a stable setting for
ourselves and others. We’re not separate from the problems, but work within
them – we keep our primary connection with our spiritual rather than our
earthly heritage. We provide a safe space – by what we do daily, we follow the
formula of radiation, and there is abundance – spiritual abundance.
Jonathan: We’re “in it
but not of it” – this is what we bring when we’re in alignment with spirit. The
recent bushfires in new South Wales – they’ve caused chaos, upheaval, and
disbelief. None of the physical preparation for such an event actually worked!
How do we make sense
of this? On one side there’s loss, huge loss. On the other hand there’s the
fact that trees and shrubs will only regenerate in bushfires, which result in
the popping open of the new seeds…the old burns off and the new life commences.
Both Paul and Jonathan
referred to the need for caregivers to receive care, for example, the
firefighters in Australia. Who will provide that? What can the group at
Riverdell do, seven hours from the fires? While we don’t know the specifics, we
can hold center while we perceive what is needed.
What these words call forth in me is a deepened awareness of the effect of my every step, of my every word into our body of humanity. What these words from Paul and Jon remind me of is that my response belongs to something higher and not to what may or may not be happening to me or to others.
I really appreciate knowing that something such as the destructive fires in Australia is actually also responsible for bringing new life! During one of those fires I remember seeing a video of a firefighter who while giving bottled water to a weary, thirsty Koala Bear--the bear drank deep and grasp the hand of the firefighter with his front paw. I felt so touched by this image of connection. Its message spoke to me of Life trusting Life, of Love reaching beyond all bounds seeing Love and not simply seeing what makes us different. In a real way, I felt as the firefighter came to the aid of the Koala, the Koala also brought something life-giving to the firefighter. And, this, I see is our opportunity as well—to see and allow Life to trust Life and to allow the Love that flows through us to reach beyond all bounds that may constrain us.
As the fires in Australia opens the way for new Earth life, the events occurring worldwide in weather, in economics, in our living patterns and in our perceptions can also open new Life in us.

I too am considering care giving. I am an Attunement Practitioner and I find that attunement is everywhere in every aspect of my life. I care for elderly seniors who need assistance to stay in their own homes. They are responsive to attunement immediately and I think it is because they have less noise and clutter in their lives. The filter to spirit is somewhat reduced. In the US we are also dealing with catastrophic fires, floods,earthquakes and volcanoes. The need for attunement is great and I am deeply appreciative of the people worldwide who assist me in my practice. The value of working with others cannot be overstated.
